Murphy and Mike LaSelle were lured by the century-old mystique of producing great liquor, and were inspired to create the finest small-batch artisan spirits. The three brothers spent years studying the art of distillation under world renowned master distillers. Belle of Dayton—genuine and unique—began with the resurgence of the American craft spirits. Before Prohibition, grist mills and distilleries dotted the Miami Valley. Spirits were distilled the old-fashioned way—with hard-work, ingenuity, and honest craftsmanship drawing from the area’s deep, mineral-rich water of the Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer. The Belle of Dayton label on each bottle, and the spirit contained therein, pays homage to that time and celebrates our American distilling heritage.

BKO Distillery was founded in 2018 by Brad Kochmit & Ken Obloy. After years of planning and nearly 14 months of hurdles securing our location, the distillery finally opened its doors on February 22nd, 2020. We launched our first brand, Voudoux Vodka, to rave reviews. In 1794, Christian Waldschmidt, a veteran of the American Revolution and businessman, started a new community at a site on the Little Miami River in Sycamore Township, Ohio. He built a general store, a blacksmith shop, a church, Ohio's first paper mill and one of Cincinnati's first distilleries. After Christian Waldschmidt passed away in 1814 he passed his legacy onto his daughter Catherine and son-in-law Mathias Kugler. They continued their father’s business and distilling legacy for decades. Today we produce only the finest whiskeys just a short distance from that original settlement. Our distillery is located in the Kugler’s historic home celebrating the Waldschmidt and Kugler’s distilling heritage and rugged pioneering spirit.

Hayner began in 1866 in Troy, Ohio. By 1920 Hayner was one of the largest distilleries in Ohio and the largest mail order whiskey business i the country. But, like all distilleries, Hayner Distilling closed in 1920 with prohibition. 100 years later, Hayner Distilling has been reborn! From a few surviving bottles we analyzed the original whiskey and working with Bardstown Bourbon Company created a blend complementary to the original Hayner.

Mill St. Distillery is a charming craft distillery located in Utica, Ohio. Situated at 10 Mill St on the site of an 1815 grist mill, this hidden gem offers a variety of small-batch spirits, including bourbon, rye, corn whiskey, gin and brandy. Minglewood Distilling Co is located in a historic Ice Plant in downtown Wooster. Enjoy crafted cocktails, guided tasting flights, and distillery tours. The building originally housed our namesake, the Minglewood Coal & Ice Co; which operated from the 1890’s until the 1950’s and delivered coal and blocks of ice to homes in town. Today the Minglewood building houses a somewhat different business. Northern Yankee Moonshine is a craft distillery located in Ripley, OH. Ripley is located along the Ohio River and is part of the Underground Railroad and is home to historic sites like the Rankin House and Parker House. All of our products are created, distilled and bottled on site in Ripley. The stimulus to start the distillery was owner/master distiller, Doug Taylor's appearance on Moonshiners Master Distiller Show on The Discovery Channel. He won the title of "Master Distiller" on the "Spirit of The South Episode"(Season 2,episode 6). Doug and Co-owner, Cheryl Albert opened the distillery in July 2022. One of our first products was his Signature Honey Peach Recipe. We now have over 12 products that include traditional moonshine, distilled through flavors, rum, gin and flavored moonshines. Willow Run is a tribute to the rich history of Cincinnati and the legacy of its founder, William J. McRoberts Jr. Established in 1865. Willow Run embodies the city’s spirit of freedom, courage, and resilience. McRoberts, an Irish immigrant, played a pivotal role in the Underground Railroad early in his career, using bourbon barrels to help escaping slaves cross the Ohio River to freedom. This profound connection to Cincinnati's past drives our mission to revive the grand tradition of 1800s barrel blenders. Our premium bourbon is actually named after W.J. McRoberts.

Willow Run is located downtown Cincinnati at 645 Walnut St., at the corner of 7th and Walnut, directly across from the Aronoff Center. Willow Run is a WoodCraft® Bourbon Blender Franchisee. WoodCraft® was developed by the team that founded the Brain Brew Distillery in Newtown Ohio.

Our illustrious leader (brewer, winemaker, mead master, distiller), Don Outterson, came to Cincinnati in 1987 to help an Australian company build Cincinnati's first brewpub, Wallaby Bob's, at the, then, Forest Fair Mall. Staying in Cincinnati (to get married), he subsequently opened a consulting business to start-up breweries, distilleries and wineries. He sourced equipment, ingredients and expertise. One of those jobs included a trip to Australia to help his former employer open the first microbrewery in the Capitol territories. First, he had to write the legislation to the Australian government. Although he dreamed of starting his own brewery, he licensed a winery in Jan 1999 instead (it was a money thing). Intrigued with microdistilleries popping up out west, he proposed legislation, with the help of Senator Bill Sietz, to originate the craft distilling permit in Ohio. He obtained the first A3a permit issued in the state and started making whiskey and brandy. The addition of his self-designed still prompted an expansion into Cincinnati in 2001 to add a tasting room on Dana Ave. Woodstone used it's potstill to make the first all-Ohio ports and brandy. Another first, a fully aged bourbon debuted in 2005. Many other firsts in Ohio microspirits followed: gin, vodka, moonshine, single malt and bierschnapps. Woodstone moved to it's current location at 4712 Vine Street in late 2013. There is no food options on site, but outside food is welcome.
